Medications must be approved by the Federal Drug Information Division and assigned Drug Identification Number (DIN).

70 % reimbursement for eligible prescribed medication of $4,285 per year

Eligible prescription drugs are generic or original brand name drugs that can only be obtained by prescription.

Reimbursement is based on the lowest-cost generic equivalent, if available

Prescription drugs (Enhanced Plan) 70 % reimbursement for first $4,285 of eligible prescribed medications and 90% thereafter

Eligible prescription drugs are generic or original brand name drugs available only  by prescription, including contraceptives (oral contraceptives, patches, injections and Mirena intra-uterine device)

Group Medical Services Prescription Drugs Basic

100% of $3,500 per policy year.

 

Deductible $4 per eligible prescription.

Pay only $4 per eligible prescription.

 

Drugs listed in the provincial health prescription drug services formulary,

Payment up to $500 per policy year for prescription medication for any pre-existing medical condition at the time of application  + special status drugs

The Edge Prescription Drugs Basic Covered at 80%, Maximum $1,000 per benefit year

Benefits include prescription drugs/medications that have been approved for use in Canada and which require a prescription by law.

 

• Benefits also include charges for diabetic syringes, needles and testing agents, insulin and other approved injectibles.

• Where a generic equivalent drug exists, reimbursement will be made for the cost of the lowest priced equivalent drug. If your medical or dental practitioner prescribes a brand name drug indicating no substitution, you will be required to pay the difference.

Prescription Drugs Enhanced

Covered at 90%, Maximums:

first 12 months $1,000, next 12 months $1,500, each 12 months thereafter $2,000
