With Flexcare®
Stand-Alone coverage, you don't need a Core plan. You can
select one or more Stand-Alones to create your own
"One-Of-A-Kind" Flexcare health plan.

Catastrophic
Coverage

Catastrophic
Coverage is designed to offer protection against large
unforeseen medical expenses that often result from serious
accidents or medical emergencies. If you have a health plan
or if you are applying for a Flexcare core plan,
Catastrophic Coverage is an affordable and ideal option to
further enhance your coverage. If you are currently without
a health plan and are looking for protection against very
large medical expenses, Flexcare Catastrophic Coverage may
be an excellent solution for you.
This coverage
provides the following benefits: |

Unlimited 100% coverage for generic and name
brand prescription drugs that commences when
annual claims exceed $4,500 per person per
anniversary year (available as an Add-On to
DrugPlus Basic and ComboPlus Basic plans, or as
a Stand-Alone);

Additional $25,000 in coverage for Homecare and
Nursing, Prosthetic Appliances and Durable
Medical Equipment (wheelchairs, etc.) that
commences when annual claims exceed $7,500 per
person per anniversary year; lifetime maximum of
$100,000.

In
the event of an accident that requires a
hospital stay of at least 24 hours, Catastrophic
Coverage provides unlimited Chiropractor and
Physiotherapist coverage for 1 year following
the accident.

All
Catastrophic Coverage benefits are paid at the
reasonable and customary level, and are co-ordinated
with any other health plan coverage you may
have.

You
are eligible to apply for Catastrophic Coverage
if you are under 65 years of age and a Canadian
resident. Once your application is approved,
your coverage will continue as long as your
premiums are paid, regardless of age or any
future changes in your health
