Visitors to Canada Medical Insurance

 

Insured Services*

Despite some differences in the policies from various companies, usually, Insured Services include:

 

Hospital confinement – the cost of standard (sometimes semi-private) hospital room, services and supplies.

 

Medical services:

- The service of a legally licensed medical physician or surgeon, anesthetist and registered nurse

- Treatment provided by licensed chiropodist, chiropractor, osteopath, physiotherapist or
podiatrist if a physician prescribes such treatment.

- Diagnostic treatment including X-rays, ultrasounds and laboratory tests required by a physician.

- The use of licensed ambulance services

- Drugs and medications (up to a maximum indicated in the policy unless hospitalized as an inpatient)

- Emergency out-patient services provide by a hospital

- Rental of hospital type bed, crutches, trusses, braces, splints or other approved prosthetic appliances

 

Accidental dental and dental emergency

 

Return of Deceased Body to the permanent residence of Insured, or cost of cremation or burial at place of death

 

Return home, if recommended by attending physician

 

Accidental Death&Disablement (optional)

 

Exclusions and limitations *

This insurance has some exclusions, conditions and limitations. You should read and understand them before purchase. Following is the list of possible exclusions you can find in the Policy:

●   Pre-existing medical conditions (may have different definition in different plans)

●   Traveling against doctor’s orders

●   Continuation of treatment or services first recommended or prescribed before effective date of the policy

●   Injury received while participating in some sports and professional activity

●   Childbirth or any complications thereof

●   Sickness, disease or bodily injury arising from by the misuse of drugs or alcohol
