COVID-19
Travel Insurance for Canadians:
Information, Quotes
Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic is not over yet, but many Canadians want to travel, can travel and sometimes have to travel
for many reason. Life goes on, it never stops... Currently,
many Canadian
travel insurance providers offer travel medical
insurance that covers coronavirus (COVID-19)
related expenses while on a trip outside Canada.
Here are the COVID-19 Travel Insurance plans for
Canadian travelers available now: get information and
quotes.
To get your best quote and select your best option, please complete the
Medical
Questionnaire ONLINE.
No medical questionnaire required for the
Allianz Global Assistance:
COVID-19 Insurance and Assistance Plan.
However, Canadians who decided to travel abroad now may face the risks, which are not covered under Travel Medical
insurance policy, such as: difficulty obtaining essential products and services, including access to local medical care;
quarantines at destination; cancellation of their return flights to Canada which will result in
additional expenses (airfare, accommodations, etc.) needed to remain at their destination.
Insurance companies
cannot guarantee access to health care services abroad during the pandemic.
Most travel insurers only
cover Emergency repatriation if it is considered necessary and safe
by the travel assistance medical team and the attending physician at
the destination. Inability to access health care or lack of access due
to overcrowded medical centres alone does not constitute grounds for emergency repatriation.
Most travel medical insurance policies do not cover a medical condition for which,
prior to your policy effective date, an official travel advisory issued by the Government of Canada states
"Avoid all travel" (Level 4 travel advisory) regarding the country, region or city of your destination.
To view the travel advisories, visit the
Government of Canada Travel site.
