Who can apply?

To be eligible for this insurance a person must:

- be a student enrolled in a school (recognized institution of learning) within Canada; or

- be an accompanying dependent child or spouse living with a student covered under this insurance;

- not be insured or eligible for benefits under a provincial or territorial government health insurance plan.

Exclusions and Limitations

Student medical insurance does not cover everything!

This insurance has exclusions, conditions and limitations.

Pre-existing Medical Condition

A Pre-Existing Medical exclusion may apply to a medical condition and/or symptoms that existed prior to your trip.

This policy will not pay any expenses or benefits relating to a pre-existing condition that was not STABLE in 90 days (or 3 months) prior to the effective date of the policy.

Some other Exclusions:

- Any sickness or injury when you knew, or for which it was reasonable to expect, before the effective date, that you would need or be required to seek treatment for that sickness or injury. (to replace terminal condition).

- Medical consultation that is non-emergency, on-going, elective or the consequence of prior elective procedure.

- Health examination for check-up purpose, regular care of a chronic condition, home health care, investigative testing, and rehabilitation.

- Any expenses incurred outside of Canada when you have not spent the majority of the period of coverage in Canada.

- Any medical condition arising during your period of coverage from, or in any way related to, the abuse of alcohol, drugs, or other intoxicants
